The Hollywood Starlet

Maida Severn died in Woodland Hills, California in 1995, escheating $175,000 to the State of California in 1999. A retired actress, she had landed her breakthrough film role in "Marjorie Morningstar", (with Natalie Wood) and later appeared in a handful of films and popular TV shows of the '60's and '70's. Through our research, we discovered that Maida had legally changed her name from May Harriet Shatt to Maida Severn in 1932. This lead us to the discovery of cousins in California and New York who were surprised to learn of a Hollywood Starlet in their family.
